Agar kadar kalium dalam tubuh tinggi, tentu Moms harus banyak mengonsumsi makanan yang tinggi akan kalium.
Menurut Perpustakaan Kedokteran Nasional AS, makanan tertentu sangat tinggi mineral ini, seperti ditemukan pada makanan berikut ini.
- Sayuran berdaun hijau gelap
- Buah yang berasal dari tanaman merambat, seperti anggur atau blackberry
- Sayuran akar seperti wortel dan kentang
- Buah jeruk seperti jeruk dan grapefruits
- Ikan seperti salmon dan nila
Buah yang memiliki kandungan kalium yang tinggi ditemukan juga pada pisang. Mengingat ada 425 miligram hanya dalam satu pisang, tujuan kalium untuk hari itu tidak terlalu sulit untuk dicapai.
Kentang dan bahkan keripik kentang kaya akan potasium. Ada 90 miligram mineral ini di setiap sendok makan selai kacang.
Karena begitu banyak makanan mengandung nutrisi ini, kecil kemungkinan Moms dan keluarga akan menderita kekurangan kalium kecuali memang sakit atau mengonsumsi diuretik.
Kelebihan kalium dalam tubuh mungkin tidak menimbulkan gejala apapun. Jika terlalu banyak, gejalanya bisa sama seperti jika terlalu sedikit.
